Monaco Grand Prix by Private Jet

Monaco has no airport. A private jet to the Grand Prix lands at Nice, 1h 50m from Amsterdam, and a helicopter covers the last 30 km to Fontvieille in about seven minutes. The 2027 race is on 6 June as a sprint weekend. Slots at Nice and the heliport sell out months ahead; the flight is the easy part.

The one race with no airport

Every other Grand Prix has a field within an hour of the circuit. Monaco has a heliport on reclaimed land at Fontvieille and a coastline. The consequence is that the whole business aviation weekend runs through Nice — 528 nm from Amsterdam, 1h 55m in a light jet — and through a helicopter shuttle that is, for those days, the principality's main road.

What sells out, in order

The Sunday departure slot at Nice. Everyone wants to leave after the podium. Secure this first; it decides whether you fly home Sunday or Monday.
Parking at Nice for the weekend. An aircraft that stays Thursday to Sunday needs a stand; in Grand Prix week the airport may not have one. The alternative is an aircraft that drops you and leaves, which puts two positioning legs in the price but removes the parking problem.
Helicopter slots at Fontvieille. The heliport has finite movements per hour and race week fills them. Booked with the jet, not after.
The aircraft. Last, and rarely the binding constraint from Amsterdam; there are always jets. There are not always slots.

The published guidance for the festival-and-Grand-Prix period — in 2026 the two overlapped — is three to six months ahead. That is the one week on the calendar where booking early changes what is possible rather than just what it costs.

What it costs, honestly

The flight itself is an ordinary Amsterdam–Nice charter. From published 2026 rate bands plus trip costs: €6,850 to €13,300 one way for a light jet, €12,100 to €21,800 for a midsize. Per person with six on board, €1,150 to €2,200. Grand Prix week does not change the hourly rate; it adds Nice's event-week handling and parking premiums, the helicopter, and the question of whether the aircraft stays or goes. The 2027 sprint weekend

Monaco is one of ten sprint rounds in 2027, which puts competitive running on Friday. For travel that means the weekend starts Thursday if you want all of it, and the demand curve at Nice moves a day earlier with it. It also means the Friday arrival, historically the quieter one, is no longer quiet.

Yacht or hotel

A large share of Grand Prix guests stay on yachts in Port Hercule rather than in hotels, and the arrival then ends at a tender rather than a lobby. The helicopter lands at Fontvieille, a car or a tender does the last kilometre.
