Formula 1 by private jet: every 2027 Grand Prix from Amsterdam

The 2027 season runs 24 Grands Prix from Bahrain on 14 March to Abu Dhabi on 12 December. From Amsterdam, seven European rounds are under three hours by private jet — Belgium is 45m — and the Gulf rounds are non-stop in a heavy jet. The table below gives the airport and the computed time for every round.

Why a Grand Prix is a private aviation event

A race weekend puts several hundred thousand people on a handful of roads for three days. Private aviation exists for that shape of problem: land at the field nearest the circuit, transfer by helicopter or car on a route that avoids the public one, and leave when the chequered flag falls rather than the morning after. Formula 1 is, for the operators, the busiest recurring event calendar in Europe, and for passengers it is the clearest case for chartering that is not about luxury.

What follows is the whole 2027 calendar with the airport we would normally use from Amsterdam and the block time our flight-time model gives for it. Rounds beyond an aircraft's range are marked with the number of technical stops rather than a made-up time.

2027 FIA Formula One calendar as announced, with the business-aviation airport for each circuit and computed block times from Amsterdam Schiphol at the class reference aircraft's long-range cruise. Sprint format rounds not marked. Consulted 2026-09-20.

The rounds that are a day trip

Three rounds are close enough that the aircraft waits and you are home for dinner: Belgium (Liège, 45m), Great Britain (Oxford, 1h 05m) and Italy (Milan Linate, 1h 35m). Each has its own guide — Spa in particular, because for Dutch and Belgian fans it is now the home race.

Monaco (1h 50m) and Austria (1h 50m) are short flights with long ground legs; both are usually done as an overnight. Portugal, Hungary, Madrid and Istanbul are two to four hours and firmly weekend trips.

The rounds that need a heavy jet

Bahrain, Qatar and Abu Dhabi are non-stop from Amsterdam only in a heavy jet — around seven hours — and a midsize jet takes a technical stop on the way. The Abu Dhabi guide works through the finale in detail, including the honest comparison with a scheduled business-class seat for a small party. Everything west of the Atlantic and east of the Gulf is at least one stop in any class; those trips are planned around the stop rather than in spite of it.

What is different about a race weekend

  • Slots and parking, not aircraft. Nice for Monaco, Liège for Spa, Oxford and Luton for Silverstone, Linate for Monza: each takes a season's worth of business aviation in one weekend. Parking approval is the item that runs out first.
  • Heliports have their own slots. Silverstone's heliport is the world's busiest on race day and allocates landing times strictly. Monaco's heliport at Fontvieille sells out for the Grand Prix weeks ahead. The helicopter is booked with the jet, not after it.
  • Departure is the crunch. Everyone leaves in the two hours after the race. A slot at 18:00 on Sunday is worth more than one at 10:00 on Friday, and it is the one to secure first.
  • Book by the calendar, not the season. Six to twelve weeks ahead for a European round; three to six months for Monaco. Our guide to booking windows explains why events are the exception to "a week is enough".

2026 first

The 2027 calendar is above because it is the one you can still plan for. The remaining 2026 rounds — Singapore, Austin, Mexico, São Paulo, Las Vegas, Qatar and the finale in Abu Dhabi on 4–6 December — can still be quoted; the December ones are the realistic ones from Amsterdam. Send the round and the party and we will tell you what is still open.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Which Grands Prix are a day trip from Amsterdam?

By block time, Belgium (45m to Liège), Great Britain (1h 05m to Oxford) and Italy (1h 35m to Milan Linate) are day-return territory. Monaco and Austria at under two hours are possible but usually better as an overnight because of the ground leg.

Can a private jet fly non-stop from Amsterdam to Abu Dhabi for the finale?

In a heavy jet, yes: 2797 nm is inside a 4,000 nm brochure range, 7h 25m in still air. A midsize jet needs one technical stop. Winter headwinds on the return can turn a marginal non-stop into a stop; the operator plans the fuel, not the brochure.

How far ahead should I book for a Grand Prix?

Six to twelve weeks for a European round, three to six months for Monaco, and earlier still for the sold-out heliport slots at Silverstone and Monaco. Grand Prix weekends are the busiest days of the year at the airports that serve them, and the constraint is slots and parking, not aircraft.

Is there a Dutch Grand Prix in 2027?

No. The 2026 race at Zandvoort was the last scheduled edition after the promoter did not extend beyond 2026. For Dutch fans the nearest rounds are now Belgium — 45 minutes to Liège — and Great Britain. Our guide to Zandvoort and what replaces it covers the options.
