Belgian Grand Prix at Spa by Private Jet

The Belgian Grand Prix is the closest round to the Netherlands: 104 nautical miles, 45m from Amsterdam to Liège, then ten minutes by helicopter to Spa-Francorchamps. It runs on 25 July 2027 and then rotates off the calendar for 2028, which makes 2027 the year to plan for.

The home race, now

With Zandvoort gone after 2026, Spa is the Grand Prix a Dutch or Belgian fan reaches fastest, and for our clients in Belgium it is a home fixture in the literal sense. The circuit sits in the Ardennes an hour from Liège, two from Brussels, and — this is the part that surprises people from the Randstad — about the same drive from Eindhoven or Maastricht as Zandvoort used to be.

By air it is trivial. 45m block time from Schiphol to Liège in a light jet; from Rotterdam a few minutes less. The whole outbound, door to paddock, can be under two hours.

Liège is the answer nine times out of ten. It is a freight airport that runs all night, which on a Sunday evening after the race is exactly what you want, and its business aviation handling knows the weekend. The item that runs out is parking for the weekend; a jet that drops you Friday and returns Sunday is easier to place than one that stays.

The rotation

From 2026 the Belgian Grand Prix no longer runs every year. It alternates with Barcelona: on the calendar in 2027, off in 2028, back after. The 2027 date is 25 July. If Spa is the race you want, it is a 2027 plan, and the slot at Liège is booked six to twelve weeks ahead rather than the week before.

Rain

Spa's weather is part of its legend and it is the one variable private aviation does not remove. The jet is unaffected; the helicopter is. Low cloud over the Ardennes grounds the ten-minute transfer and the fallback is the 40-minute drive, so the itinerary carries that margin. On a wet Sunday, the people who planned the road fallback are the ones who saw the start.
